hey guys...so I've been working on a new Idea...
Wooden stake you're prey into a complete torpourous state...then vote them out via Can't take it with you.
But...I have a question...the card states; Melee weapon.
Strike: strength damage. If more than 1 damage is inflicted on an opposing vampire by this weapon in a given combat, that vampire is sent to torpor. In that case, this card is transferred to that vampire, and he or she doesn't untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he or she remains in torpor.
may more than 1 damage be inflicted with multiple strikes? or does it take something like...Torn Signpost or Brute force???
Let's look at the text for Wooden Stake again. Another way to say it is:
Strength damage each strike. If more than 1 damage is inflicted on an opposing vampire by this weapon in a given combat, then that vampire is sent to torpor. In that case, this card is transferred to that vampire, he or she doesn't untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he or she remains in torpor.
So all you need to do is either start with increased strength (like say Crusher who has +1 strength to start) or use a card to increase it. Or the other side of the coin is to hit them multiple times with the Stake in the same combat. This is done either via extra strikes in one round or by pressing to a second round and hitting them again. Note that having a vampire with the +strength is statistically better than having to rely on drawing other cards to stake someone. Use a NOS/!NOS with Disguised Weapon (Calebos would work quite nicely...and you should ask Lance about this type of deck because I think years ago he had an A1 Stake deck).
One final note, Can't Take it with You would be way too slow and ineffective to actually be worth the time. You would get better results using Vulnerability (master card) or just an "immune" vampire (like Muaziz, Archon of Ulugh Beg).
